Question 1

Will this work without damaging the printer?  In the past, I've tried after-market ink with HPs, and they have something in the printer that detects its not an HP product and start having printing issues; even damaging the machine.

I bought a couple of these toner cartridges for my Brother MFC8710DW and they work fine.  I'm on my second cartridge and have not had any problems with them.

I also have an older HP P2015DN printer which I use after market printer cartridges and I do get a message that says "Non HP print cartridge" but I have not noticed any problems than that message that comes up at the end of the print cycle.  I've been using these after market cartridges for about ten years and they do a great job.

will this toner fit MFC-7860DW?

I'm not sure.  I brought the toner for a Brother HL-2240D.  The cartridge work fine in my machine.  I suggest that you go to the Rosewill website and search for information on the cartridge specifications.

does this fit HL-2140?

I used to have a HL-2170W (I think this used the same toner as the HL-2140) and was under the strong impression that my HL-2270W could not use the same toner.
But perhaps this is backwards compatible? You could e-mail Brother customer support if no one gets back to you here.

Question 4

Why is RTCS-TN450 called high yield?  Model# RTCA-TN450,  RTCG-TN450V2, and RTCS-TN450 each lists 2600 pages per cartridge on comparison page and each shows as compatible with Brother printer HL-2240.

The TN450 is the high yield cartridge, that is why it says that.  The TN420 is the standard yield cartridge.  Both are compatible with the same model Brother Laser Printers.

Question 5

I followed installation directions until it got to "4. Remove the black cover as instructed by arrow."  but there is no arrow, nor a protective cover.  It seems like I received an empty cartridge.  The printer keeps indicating that it is empty. Where do I go for help?

Hi Bob-- have bought this product numerous times. I'm not sure about the steps...here's how I do it. Hope this helps.

Take out the cartridge holder, from the copy machine. 
Open the black plastic bag, take out the new ink unit-(which says -
RTCS-TN450 in white letters across the top). 
Push it gently into the cartridge holder, that comes with the copy machine-it sort of snaps in. 
Place the whole thing back into the copier and shut the front-it snaps shut. Hope this helps!

I have it installed in my Brother HL-2280DW, and it works so far with know problems. I cannot speak as to how long it will last as I just installed it last month.
