up link to another gigabit switch?

I have two of these switches setup and running and they work GREAT!!! I connected them using fiber. Really sped things up on that leg of our network! And I linked to another switch via fiber from one of them, and it was dell switch. The answer to your question is yes, you can link them. Up down and all around.

Is this model GS748t v4?

This appears to be the switch model described. We replaced an old switch with this model several months ago and have had excellent service from it. Hope this helps.
