Do I need internet to use this product?

Internet service IS REQUIRED for this or any streaming video produce.  I would recommend an internet speed of at least 5mb / sec.  NeoTV is capable of wired or wireless access to your internet.

can I view pictures from my computer to tv with this device?

This is actually my third NETGEAR NeoTV I have purchased I use them to view the streaming of my movie collection from my IOMega multimedia system through my network.  they work terrific, you can also stream music, pictures and internet TV (Netflix, Hulu, Pandora ect) from your network. I buy one periodically to save as a back up in case one fails but have never had to replace one!

From the home screen scroll down to "Settings"  Press OK on the remote,

Scroll down to "Network" Press OK on the remote,

Scroll down to "IP Settings".  Press OK on the remote,

The IP Address is listed third from the top.

If there is no address shown, your NEO did not properly connect to your network.

how do I update my neo tv 300 player?

It updates automatically when connected to the .net, just have to wait until finished. Used in bedroom TV, real nice picture, just connect to HDMI port on your TV. Many apps to chose movies, etc. etc...

I just got the netgear 300 and there is no hulu or hulu plus on the product. Is there a way to put hulu on as one of your picks. Can it be installed?

I bought a Roku at the same time I bought the NeoTV to compare them both.  I had planned on giving one to my mom.  I don't even think there is a comparison between the two !!!!!  I would send the NeoTV back or take it to Wal-Mart and exchange it for a Roku....ANY ROKU !!!!!!!!

The NeoTV isn't even worth your time to plug it in !!!!!!!

Never tried, but has a lot of apps on it but you must always purchase a subscription to them, like Netflix and others

just press the ok button when the update is shown then turn it off when done. It may need another update so do the same again. Then all worked fine after that.

I did the update on my ntv300 and then if froze up and I could get it to move from the neotv logo.  How do I fix this?
