Does this item have holes on the bottom of it to mount to flat against a wall?

No, there are no mounting holes on the bottom of the unit - only some small indentations where rubber feet can be applied, to use the unit on a table/shelf.

You can purchase the optional mounting bracket kit to mount this unit to a standard width equipment rack.

Does this switch also provide QoS service?

I have not found anyplace online to imply that it supports Qos. As it is un-managed, there is no way to log in and look. Having said that, This is the fastest gigabit switch I have found. Upon determining that the switch was my networks bottleneck, I bought a few to test with and this gave me the best transfer rates.

Does this have PoE for any ports?  I'm assuming no because I see no mention of it in the specs but want to be sure.

It does not have any PoE ports. Mine has been an excellent switch. Outlasted a couple that cost much more.

Does this have a fan, and is it quiet or loud?  I don't see a db rating.

Ive had it for over a year and never heard a peep out of it... I'm pretty sure its passive cooling

What is the meaning of the "D" in the two similar versions of this product?  Model number...

I think it is duplex as opposed to half-duplex. Meaning that it can send and receive data without a problem.

Question 8

The specs listed are for the TEG-S24DGv1, not the TEG-S24DGv2. Does that mean that the unit supplied will be a v1? If not, why provide specifications that may or may not apply to the product we'll get?

The switch I received was the correct  v2 switch, but there really isn't much difference. the correct specs are available on trendnet website.
