Yes, this definitely has WiFi.  It has much better reception that my phone or cheap 7" tablet on my relatively weak home wifi router.

I have been extremely impressed with this tablet.  It is super fast and does all kinds of things that I wasn't aware of when I bought it like smart screen (tracking eye movement and turning off screen if you look away for too long to save battery life) and direct WiFi which acts as a mobile wifi hotspot (I can connect to my canon digital camera and take pictures on the camera directly from the tablet, use the camera like a baby (cat) monitor and transfer pics from the camera to the tablet immediately and effortlessly).

This tablet also has an excellent GPS built in which has the fastest and cleanest satellite locks that I have seen on any GPS device from the expensive chartplotter on my boat to any current smart phone.

You will NOT be disappointed with this tablet!

After I received my Tab 4, I spent a few weeks trying to find the perfect tablet case or "folio".

I believed that I could not live without a keyboard.  And, there are several manufacturers out there offering cases with integral blue-tooth keyboards.  (*** So, answer to your question:  YES ***)

Unfortunately, I just couldn't find one that I wanted.  I really wanted a case with brown leather / pleather, and that was apparently too much to expect.  There were other factors that hindered my decision:  the ability to charge your tablet with the case closed, the perceived quality, etc.

In the end, I made a revolutionary decision:  I don't need a keyboard.  In fact, this was the right decision.  This is a tablet and not a laptop.  The touchscreen has Swype, a function that is better-suited for the intended use of the tablet.  If I want to type a novel or a letter, I'll pull out my laptop.  I don't plan to use the Tab 4 for typing letters.

Yes.  The tablet wont read it.  Haven't been able to get it to work.  I also have issues with the tablet itself.

Is this the same as the Nook tablet sold by Barnes and Noble?

They are similar but they run slightly different modified operating systems. You will find that some Android applications will not work on the Nook but I have not found any Android applications that do not work on the Samsung Galaxy.

For an answer to this question, I would refer to the manufacturer's performance specifications.  My best answer is based on anecdotal information.

What I'd tell you is that the battery lasts a long time - as in, several days.  It doesn't seem to have the extra-long life of my old IPad, but I do a lot more with this tablet than I did with my IPad.

One more thing ... it should be obvious that battery life depends on your usage.  If you play games or videos, you'll probably burn the battery at a quicker rate than if you just use the tablet to check e-mail, news, Facebook, etc.

how can I tell if a tablet is compatible with verizon data plan?

I always look at the specifications of the device. then i look @ the communications area. if it only says wifi, then there is no data plan worries. :-) hope this was helpful. also, the device is awesome. i dont own it but i set it up for the person i got it for...fyi
