Can this note 8 OS be upgraded to anything newer than Jellybean?

I don't believe that it is possible at this time. Lollipop was supposed to be released in the UK but Samsung canceled that. The Mod community isn't really pushing anything more than KK 4.4.4. I have stock rooted 4.4.2 It works for what I needed it for. However it is sad that this more than capable device is being left out to the sands of time.

You can use 64GB but may sometimes be unstable. It says 32GB because that is native. The format on larger sdcard is different and kind of works. You need only insert 64GB card and reformat it before use. Then it's fine.

Is there a tablet like the Samsung Galaxy 8.4,that can also be used as a electronic note book for like taking notes in class.What do you suggest?

yes it will be great for note taking... good for the price too.
i enjoy mine.

also has a quick note pad when you take out the pen ... i also use evernote ...

I doubt this model has 4G capabilities but all samsung tablets and phones made in the last say 5-8 years have sd card slots of some kind. They gotta keep up with the competition yanno. And by competition I do not mean an already bitten apple.. lol ;)
