Pros: Very lightweight. Amazing battery life, ~6-10 hours depending on usage. Quite fast given the hardware specs. LCD is bright, clear and easy to read.

Cons: Touchpad buttons could be much better. A single, rocker-style bar is not ideal.

Overall Review: Windows 7 Starter is kind of a rip-off. You can accomplish the same "performance" by using Win7 Home Premium if you just turn Aero Glass off and then you'd be able to change the background without hacking Windows (which isn't hard to do with Win7 Starter, just a PITA). Seriously Microsoft, EVERYONE wants to change their desktop background... Definitely expand this netbook to 2GB of RAM, you will notice a big improvement. The harddrive is nice and quiet, obviously an SSD would be faster.

Pros: Matte finish, small and lightweight, powerful N550, matte screen (and very bright), wide touchpad, great keyboard, battery life.

Cons: A bit of crapware.

Overall Review: I got this netbook because of the N550 processor, and the thing is a beast (for a netbook). Playing video and multitasking is a breeze. I was doing a virus scan and playing Hulu video, and it was flawless. The touchpad does extend nearly to the spacebar, but if have proper typing position, this is not a problem whatsoever (and it can be disabled fn+F3). The keyboard is surprisingly easy to get used to. Matte screen is awesome. Everything blue is matte, and the black plastic around the LCD and keyboard is glossy, which looks good. When I pick up the netbook by the corner with the screen open, there is no plastic creaking, and the whole thing sounds very solid. Battery life is insane. Easily 6 hours with Flash use on websites. Turn off wifi for word processing only and it's easily 10 hours.

Pros: Well designed, comfortable to type on, well laid out. For a chiclet keyboard, it's absolutely wonderful to use. All functions are easily available at a glance. The ports are convieniently positioned, and easily accessible. The dual core Atom performs very well, and the hyperthreading comes in quite handy for that little extra oomph when you heed it. The screen is sharp, clear, and bright as you need it. None of the fuzziness older generation netbooks sometimes had problems with. Bloatware is minimal, and easily uninstalled. Some of it, like the dropdown Asus center at the top of the screen, will be useful to people who do a bit of telecommuting. The touchpad works quite well, once you find a sensitivity that works for you, and the bottons don't have that "gonna pop off" feeling that seems so common to lower priced laptops/netbooks. All in all, light, comfortable to use, and well laid out. With 2 gigs of memory, it hums along without much in the way of complaints.

Cons: 1 gig of memory is not enough unless you have no intention of doing anything besides email and typing letters/reports. The port for the power input on the left side of the netbook feels fragile. I would suggest taking extra care to not move when it's plugged in. The key layout is very good, but people who hate chiclet keys will not like it without a great deal of use to acclimate their fingers. The feel is somewhat different from a normal sculpted keycap. Windows 7 Starter. Definitely upgrade to Home or install Linux. If you can find drivers, XP will also be an excellent alternative. Starter is just too limited for anything besides email and surfing. Small screen will be a handicap if you have poor eyesight. Then again, if your eyesight is bad, you shouldn't bee looking at a netbook.

Overall Review: Very nice little machine. More memory would be useful, but that's true for just about any netbook, and most laptops. HDD is comfortably large, processor is an excellent blend of speed and power usage, and keyboard doesn't make you want to punt the little computer out the window after 2 minutes.

Pros: Fast performance for a netbook. Obviously, it will never outperform a desktop, but for the price and the size, it works well. Perfect for travel, taking to class, etc. Decent power consumption. Small, solid, lightweight case. Nice looking blue color.

Cons: Small keyboard is hard to get used to for anyone who has never used a netbook. The flat island keys are a little difficult to use and lead to frequent typos. The keys also tend to lack sensitivity. Plastic around the screen and keys collects fingerprints and dust easily.

Overall Review: This is my first netbook and my second laptop overall. I am generally pleased with it. It is a nice compliment to my desktop PC.

Pros: Price, Newegg Service, battery Life, Over all speed, very light/compact

Overall Review: Overall I'm very impressed with this netbook, it does everything that I have asked it to do. Surfs the web just fine, watched movie online downloaded from Netflix just fine, a tiny bit of lag, but only lasted a short while. But no problems downloaded it from Netflix. Watch the CFL game online from ESPN3, and it was perfect!!! Yes, I did upgrade to the 2GB RAM, cost me whole $24. My only complaint has been it ability to pick up a WIFI signal, but maybe I am expecting to much. My Big laptop says it strength is excellent, while my netbook which is right beside it, says its low (only2/5 bars shaded in) But it still connects fine, just a tad slower. Battery life is excellent, haven't really tested it out fully, but just surfing the net I now have gone beyond 6hrs unplugged. The mouse pad works fine, can scroll and drag with ease. I normally use a wireless mouse though. Very pleased and would recommend this netbook to others. Neweggs service was super.

Pros: Light, sturdy, long battery life, stays cool, & very powerful for a netbook in this price range. Trust me youll love it. Does everything youd need a netbook to do.

Cons: 5400 rpm disk is kind of lame, would love Asus to put SSDs in these things! I dont really care for all the Asus junk that came preloaded, but I had no troubles removing all but the hybrid engine. You will notice a difference in startup times if you remove all the preloaded junk. Wish the hard disk was easy to get to, I dont really care about voiding warranty but it looks like a real pain.

Overall Review: For sure upgrade to 2gb ram for this thing. Its very easy to install, but make sure you get a 2gb stick of 204-Pin DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600). I made the mistake of thinking there was a gig on the board, nope theres a stick you have to replace. Its cheap too, only around $20 for some GSkill brand, which I highly recommend. Oh yeah & increase the screen resolution to 1024x768, I think the default is too low.

Pros: Reasonably priced, good screen contrast and clarity, lightweight, good battery life.

Cons: Really hate the touchpad, specifically the rocker button. Really hard to push down, so perhaps split into two would be helpful. System restore is incredibly over complicated. It requires you to go into the BIOS to allow you the option to restore, and then you have to follow that... assuming you could figure any of that on your own. Mine had to be restored/reformatted the day I recieved it because it kept losing configuration data between restarts.

Overall Review: A "no-frills" netbook/laptop. If you just want it to surf the net and whatnot it's great, but I wouldn't buy it if you are expecting anything high-performance or precise without an external mouse.

Overall Review: For a netbook, this is not bad at all. It's so tiny compared to my dell xps, but its so small and light i find myself using it often in bed, in the car.. It's fast enough for most tasks. It doesnt get too warm, battery lasts a long time. Its like the size of an iPhad but with a keyboard!
