I see mention of ASUS productivity apps but I don't see any mention of access to the Google Play store. I'm assuming there are no restrictions on what apps can be downloaded and installed. Is this correct?

There is no restriction on what apps you can download from the Google Play Store, unless the app is not compatible with android 4.1 but this is rare. If you would like to install apps from outside sources or install your own .apk files, then you would have to turn on a setting that allows you to download and install from outside sources.

Will this unit couple with the blue tooth key board ?

Yes. I'm writing this answer on an Anker bluetooth keyboard. Works just fine.

Is there a Kit Kat Update?

Don't know. I have 4.2 Jelly Bean, works okay. I'm hoping that Android 5.0 Lollipop might work on this unit.
