does this product have a port for micro sd card?

It does. My mother has no internet and this was a gift for her so I loaded up the SD with books, music. I know it can handle at least 32gb microSD not sure what the max is.

Can this still be upgraded to KitKat?

I have sent a few emails now to ASUS customer support about this and have never received an answer from them. From what I have read on the Internet if an upgrade is made ready by a company for a particular device the device will ask if you wish to upgrade. I have yet to get this upgrade message. So, to answer your question, "I don't know".

The micro port is a standard SD micro card port.

Does the Micro-USB port output enough power to use a USB thumb drive (with an adapter)?

I dont know. I havent used that port for reading a usb drive.
