does it take pictures?

Yes, the rear camera is only 5mp and I'm not sure about the front but it takes as decent pictures as can be expected from a tablet.

On sale, this tablet is 10$ cheaper than the EVGA NT7. Is there any difference in built design or quality that would justify the price difference?

I think it actually has better build quality. This was one of the reasons I bought it instead of the EVGA. It has yet to get the latest update, but you can root and load all that stuff yourself. I haven't done that yet as it works well for me as is. Also the EVGA cover works beautifully. Love my Slate 7 extreme.

does this comes with the pen at this price?

Yes the tablet does come with the stylus that gets put away in the bottom of the tablet. When the stylus is removed then it activates some of the stylus related functions.

I think the tablet has an electronic compass. But it also has magnets for attaching it somewhere. Why don't the magnets interfere with the compass ?

It has a compass app. No magnets. Box contains tablet, pen, wall charger, and cable.
