Does this use DDR3 or DDR2. I assume it is a SATA drive? Thanks

Hi Charles, As far as the hard drive goes it is SATA. The drive that comes with this is too slow and not enough capacity to effectively run Windows. Swap it out for a SSD or higher capacity/rpm drive. Still won't be the fastest machine but based on your needs and this price point it could fit the bill. It was perfect for the limited needs that I had. Seller refurbished my unit to like-new condition. If you have to buy the drive then it might make sense to look at other budget models as the CPU is its limiting factor (not the memory).
