very hard to install one you need to take apart the entire Lap top then you lost your warranty because that plus Newegg give you only one month to return it, I'm stack with two of this very slow bad items

I would assume so; if you update the operating system to Windows 7, this will wipe out the current version of Windows.  I have not attempted as I have enjoyed the newer version.

yes, dvd/cd.  Tray is extremely flimsy.  I am surprised it has not broken yet, but it works.

How easy is it to get to the Memory and Harddrive?  Is there a bottom cover that unscrews or does that whole laptop have to be disassembled?

I have done it following you tube videos.  I have worked on many laptops over the years, and this one was the most challenging.  The materials are not strong, and many times I got nervous that something would break.  It feels like they intentionally made it difficult hoping that consumers would break the device and loose warrentee.  The sticker under the keyboard hiding a screw is just evil...   The whole process to dissasseble and upgrade HDD & Memory was about 30 min.  One Memory slot means old simm is wasted to upgrade.

Please return it because Newegg give you only 30 days and this pc is a very BAD investment to install additional ram or and SSD you need to take the entire PC apart plus is giving me a lot of problems sorry you got one.
