Does it have front and rear camera functionality?

Yes it does. I don't know the megapixels for each, but I use both all the time with Facebook Messenger.

If you can avoid it, don't upgrade this tablet to Lollipop; it eats up too much of the 8 GB memory. Even though I have a mostly empty 32 GB card as well, I still have to delete something to install a new app. Otherwise this has been a very good entry level tablet for me.

Does this tablet have an IR Blaster?

Yes, it does.  Here's a little tip: Even though my Scientific Atlanta cable box isn't listed as a supported cable box, if I select the Time Warner cable box, it works.

How many hours does the battery in this G pad last?

On Saturday, I started playing Internet radio with the screen off starting around 11:30.  The battery was at 100% at this time.  By 2:30, the battery had only gone down to 96%, but I did do a bit of YouTubing.

Can I watch video's from amazon prime?  Can I watch I hulu video's on this? can this device use a 4G network through verizon to access the internet.

This device is UNABLE to access 4G/LTE because it does not have the hardware to support cellular services. It is wifi only! However, on wifi, it should have no problem accessing hulu or Amazon prime. (Granted both support android)

This device came preloaded with the latest android OS when I ordered mine. (KitKat 4.4.2)

Touch is very sensitive, so much so that I have noticed accidental touches while hovering over the screen.

That question does not make sense unfortunately.  Memory is not something that is measured in hours.

It's not a great tablet though, I'd look elsewhere.  It is known for having overheating issues.

Advertised with a feature called "Q-pair", it is implied that this device has a built in microphone to relay phone calls from a smart phone.  How do owners of this device rate its quality?  Does anyone have experience using it to recording classroom lectures?

Yes it has a microphone and it pairs to the phone via bluetooth connection.  QPair is OK, it works as good as using the speakerphone mic on my cell phone.  Txting isn't worth it, as you can only receive and reply to received txts (you can't initiate a new one) and there is no group txting, you will get the message as a standard text regardless.  You have to have your phone within bluetooth range as well.  The farther away, the more quality issues.
