Yes, this is a tablet.  All tablets have built in wifi that is how they connect to the internet and all information sources, otherwise they would not do anything at all.

This is a rather complex tablet if you are not familiar with the operating system it may be a bit frustrating at first it is not as easy to use as a Apple with IOS or a Samsung with android.

Does this come with a keyboard?

No it does not come with a keyboard nor a stylus pen. I use it after buying a keyboard as a child's computer. If you want to have the true surface/tablet experience buy a Surface pro 3 or higher it still does not come with a keyboard but it does come with a stylus and with a keyboard purchase and a portable hard drive you have a great lil semi powerful ultimately flexible tablet experience.

Does this also come with a charger?

well is very nice tablet if you not going to install any thing related to windows software wont take it is lock RT windows. if you going to surf the net and check e-mail and some games be ok. other wise don't get it

is the battery charger included---do you supply the pen ---does it come with a carry protective case?

charger came with mine but the pen only comes with the pro version. and a side note, I love this tablet. this was my second one and I am now on my third which is a pro and it is as good as a laptop.

Does this Surface have an Ethernet port?

No.  It only has a USB 2.0 port, Mini HDMI port, and a Micro SD slot.  As most tablets, it primary connection method to the internet is through wireless.  A USB to Ethernet adapter could be added for a hardwired connection.

I know I can't get an app. for youTube. But, can I surf and watch youTube?

I am pretty sure you have a youtube app. I do frequently watch youtube on surface, so you should be fine.

Can you use the pen with this?

I do not think you can use the pen on this.  I am not sure exactly what the pen does but I believe the pen is for the Pro versions.

I looked at Microsoft site and it looks like the current model might not be the one on sale. Is this model current or an older model discontinued?

this is a Surface 2.... It is a Referbished OLDER model...The Newest one is the Surface 3.
