What is the latest android version this tablet can be upgraded to?

Hey Kraig,

Just upgraded to 4.3.1 the other day and it's awesome.  Seems 'snappier' than 4.2.  Overall excelent tablet.  Only issues I've had are with the little waterproof cover for the usb plug.  It stopped closing the second day.

never owned a tablet... are the batteries replaceable or what?

They aren't, but it charges through a mini-usb port much like a smart phone. This thing has incredible battery life too in my experience. I don't use it too terribly heavily, but I'll regularly get a few days of light usage out of it without plugging it in.

does this tablet require a phone data plan to work or will the WIFI allow the tablet to work on my existing internet (COX) set up?

NOPE, IT S JUST THE WIFI VERSON.

I AM NOT SURE ABOUT WHAT COX IS, BUT IF YOUR YOU HAVE WIFI SIGNAL, THEN THE TABLET WORKS.

How does the MHL work? does it plug into the charging port? Is it micro-USB?

Yes.
An MHL adaptor connects to the micro USB charging port on the tablet, and provides a standard HDMI port.
They do require external power though, usually from another microUSB port.

is there a stand for this tablet?  how does it work and how much?

Yes, there's a cradle. You just plug your charger into the cradle and slide the tablet right in. You can adjust the angle to wherever you see fit. I haven't had any issues with mine. It's been sturdy and worked great for the last month or so I've had it. Newegg has the stand on sale right now. Just search for "SONY SGPDS5 Cradle" and it should come up. :)

When i call skype all people keep telling me that is echo.?

That's partly because the speakers and microphone are in the same platform (the tablet). I don't use the newest Skype, but make sure that "echo cancelling" is enabled in your settings if you can.
If this doesn't help, connect headphones. This'll prevent the vibrations from the speakers from traveling through the tablet to the microphone.
You should also be able to pair a Bluetooth headset to the tablet and use that for your Skype calls, or connect a wired headset to the headphone port.
Any of these should fix your echo problem.
