Can a standard microphone  be used in the auxiliary port?

A microphone does NOT work in my experience.  I tried one in the 3.5mm Aux input and also the flashdrive port.  Neither worked.   Evidently it needs a digital file to work.  
But I have found the device enjoyable and useful.  Biggest shortcoming is not knowing which digital file you are hearing when using a flashdrive or memory card.  Not a problem if using a tablet, mp3 player, etc.

is the unit compatible for nokia BL-6C batteries?

it's a small cell phone battery, 800 mAh... 3.7v
it looks very similar to the battery you refer from me looking it up on bing images...
same pin placement.
this battery that came with the potable speaker is 2 1/4 inches high, and 1 3/8 inches wide.

Question 3

I've got a Toshiba 500GB external hard drive with my entire mp3 music library on it. As a side note: My mp3 files are organized into separate subfolders on my Toshiba; first by genre, then by artist and finally by CD. The problem is, at this time, I can only play this music at my computer. I would like to be able to plug it into a portable device (affordable, good sound quality, small). This GOgroove SonaVERSE BXL looks like it might do the trick but how can I know for sure? Will the subfolder organization of my files interfere with my use of this product?

I put a couple folders on a flash drive; one with three songs, one with two.  It played the three, and then the two without any problems or prompting.  However, there is no navigation, so your only options are going forward or backward one song at a time.  An external drive would probably require external power, as the little battery is only 800 mAh.  I usually copy a batch of music to an SD card, which plugs directly into the unit.  It works fine with a tablet, iPod, phone, etc., but no Bluetooth.  Also, the sound is pretty good, but this isn't Bose or JBL, so don't expect that level of sound quality.  Also, it's probably smaller than you think!

You must understand what your paying for this item.  When you take this into consideration it is a pretty good buy.  I bought this to take on a trip so I could use usb drives for my music.  It will fill up a hotel room with ok sound.  Our grandson (7 years) liked it so much while we were on our trip that when we got home it stayed with him.  I proceeded to order two more.  I believe it is about 3 watts rms per channel about the same as early boom boxes.
