No.  The document tray will only handle letter size (8.5x11).  I believe you can do legal size in the document feeder though.

will this scanner work with windows 8?

The good news is that it works with W8 and W8.1.  The bad news is that I have W8 and W8.1.  This OS update  from W7 crippled my laptop wifi and I have to use a hard cable now.  I also had to update other apps.

It's been a while since I installed this scanner, but as I recall the supplied installation disk is worthless.  I went to Epson and downloaded the latest s/w.  But then, I seldom use the Epson s/w.  I use a program called "File Center" which works well with this scanner and allows easy scanning of data into File Center folders.

File Center looks like a "4 drawer file cabinet" and makes it easier to backup all of the folders in it at one time.

will is scan from a flash drive?

No, there is not a USB port directly on the scanner in which you would be able to plug in a flash drive.

Does this scanner have networking capability?

It only has the ability to save to a network folder. Sharing across a network is not available. The scanner has to be plugged into the computer doing the scanning.
