Creative ZEN STONE PLUS Black 2GB MP3 Player

Pros: Great sound, Decent battery life, Charges super fast(after the initial charge), Small, Easy to use. 2 Gigs of storage. Can be used as a mass storage device. Simple drag and drop function. Lots of extras that I don't even use(voice recording, fm radio, stopwatch)

Cons: USB 2.0 is a false claim. It transfers like a SLUG. So if you want to use this to move files as well, this is NOT the player for you. Unless you are very patient. Needed a firmware update to get it to charge fully. Included earphones are horrible.

Overall Review: The transfer rate, and the needed firmware update cost this player a perfect rating. The firmware update was needed, or the player would not take a full charge. Annoying. It was pretty simple to fix, but completely a killjoy. Battery life seems to be about the rated amount. Though I have yet to run it completely dead. I listen to it 8-9 hours a day at work. I love this player. Despite the annoyances from the setup.

Pros: 1GB just wasn't enough and then this came along right when I wanted it. The regular stone had great reviews so I decided to buy one. It's easy to use and very small and convenient. Right now I have 19 albums on it and still have 400MB free (and I only use high bitrate mp3s). Some of the reviews out on the web mention that it's difficult to browse your music but I don't have any problem with it - browse music is under the options menu if for some reason you're having trouble finding it.

Cons: Can't easily read the display outdoors, scratches easily, earbuds it comes with aren't the greatest.

Overall Review: Compared to the competition, this player is great for the price. I've never seen the need to carry all my music with me and 2GB seems perfect. My siblings have owned iPods and between the both of them, I think they've gone through at least six - so much for "it just works."

Pros: Small, Fast, Feature filled. very easy to use and great form factor for a light weight player for working out.

Cons: couldn't buy an armband on newegg. had to go to creative store.

Overall Review: makes me want to go to the gym

Pros: Small, Compact, you can take it anywhere. Great sound for it's size. Has a built in EQ & Bass Boost for all you affecionados. Lots of extra features that I never use, like a Voice recorder and a stop watch. All you do to transfer mp3's to this player is just plug it in, and drag & drop, simple enough, right ?

Cons: Transferring MP3's to this player takes forever and a day. As other reviews stated, definitely not USB 4.0 , the transfer rate is FAR from 480mb/s. When a song is playing, navigating through the settings is very slow, takes 2-3 navigating through each option. Since it's so glossy, fingerprints real easy.

Overall Review: This is an absolutely amazing player if you're taking it to the gym, or jogging around the neighborhood. However, the slow navigation, slow transfer rate, and the fact that you can lose this bad boy very easily makes it not so good for commuting etc. Get a Zen Vision instead. But if you need something for the Gym, this is for you.

Pros: This player weighs next to nothing and sounds fantastic. The ear buds are nothing to write home about but get the job done. Great battery life and a fast charge. You get more storage and a graphic interface at a better price than the leading small mp3 player.

Cons: The interface lags horribly. Sometimes you'll have to wait 5 seconds for the player to react to a button press. You have to hold down the power / pause button to turn the thing on and there's no cue that this is working. The interface seems buggy at times, with the same button press doing different things, but that might be the lag.

Overall Review: Really good value, especially with the rebate. Don't forget to mail it in. I did. It was dumb.

Pros: It's so light, it's more like a pebble than a stone; sounds great like your typical Creative products; finally not using batteries!

Cons: The included earbud is utter trash (see below); there could be more present EQ; you can't see jack on its LED display under sunlight; reaction to interaction is a bit laggy, but no big deal.

Overall Review: I had a Zen Nano Plus 1GB before, so I am mainly comparing it to that, since both are Creative and Zen series. And, please believe me when I said its earbud is trash; I found earbuds that usually came with Creative MP3 players very decent (MUVO, Zen Nano Plus), but this one is waaayyyy inferior. I listened to 320kbps CBR mp3's, so the difference is really hard to miss. If you have older Creative earbuds or other earbuds/headphones, please use those; I used my old one from Zen Nano Plus, and it sounds far better now. I would give a 4.5 if I could. The player itself, though, is awesome.

Pros: Small, super-light, easy to use, sounds good.

Cons: Display is impossible to see if your standing in sunlight. I don't think battery life is as long as advertised, but I haven't really sat down to try it yet.

Overall Review: Dunno what other's issues were with these. Mine transfers a song in a matter of 5-7 seconds. No problem with computer recognition. I have big hands/fingers, small buttons not an issue. Creatives earphones are comfortable and sounded better than some crummy Sony's I thought would sound better. Shoulda known to avoid sony.

Pros: -Charges quickly and has decent battery life -Drag and drop music right onto the the device! -Very small and light -Sounds great

Cons: -Menu scrolling can be sluggish while music is playing.

Overall Review: If the problem above is really bugging you, pause the music for a second and you can scroll through the menu at full speed.
