Will it play while charging?

Yes. Had decent sound quality for a small unit and synced quickly and easily with several devices.

Does this work with windows phone?

Yes, it's bluetooth based and should work with any capable phone or player. The NFC may help with pairing. To me it's more of a selling feature. I kan confirm it works well with Windows Phone OS, Nokia 925 and 928 specifically. Also works with several Android phones, tabs and phabs. It's also lightweight and easy to charge. Voice notice when battery is low. Audio sounds good too. I purchased two more as gifts.

does it have 3mm input?

Hello. To the right of the USB jack is the AUX input you are looking for. Use the image gallery and select the photo with the yellow on/off switch facing you head on, it shows the best angle.

Does this have a 'mute' button when using for phone calls?

No. It only has the answer/end button and volume controls.

can I insert a memory card with MP3 inside to play MP3 ? Thanks Eddie

No. You can plug in a MP3 player with the audio jack or connect thru bluetooth.
