The streamlined StreetPilot C550 comes loaded with features. The bright touchscreen offers a clear view even in bright sunlight, and the voice module gives you turn-by-turn directions with spoken street names. The high-sensitivity receiver gives you faster acquisition times and stronger reception in tough conditions. The Bluetooth receiver and audio-out jack let you use the C550 as a speakerphone, and you can play MP3 music and driving directions out through your car stereo.

The unit ships with preloaded City Navigator NT maps, and includes a huge database of Points of Interest (POI), like gas stations, restaurants, attractions and parks, and shopping. You can also add maps online, or add custom POI like traffic camera locations and school zones, then set proximity alerts to warn you when you’re approaching one.

Avoid traffic tie-ups with the integrated FM TMC traffic receiver, which notifies you of accidents, road construction, and weather-related traffic delays. If you need to find a location on foot, or you want to enjoy some MP3 music without turning the car on, the C550 runs about 8 hours on battery.
