Is the included RAM ECC? Or non-ECC?

I believe it is ECC. This server is very specific about the ram that will work in it. I tried 3 different brand and ended up having to by the exact same brand and it was $$$

Still like the server though.

Question 2

Does this server come with extra hard drive caddies, or just the one with the installed hard drive?

Just the one - I do not recommend this system - internal RAID controller doesn't work on some units. However, MS Server 2001 and up does excellent software based RAID control.  I use this system for primary local storage of backups that replicate to a cloud server for offsite storage. It's ok for that, but it's been disappointing overall.

Question 3

How many 3.5" hard drives will this system support.  Are they hot-swap?

It holds 4 and has a backplane however you have to take the front cover off the computer to get to the drives.  You cannot hook the backplane to another add-on RAID controller however unless it has 4 individual SATA ports.  Also it will not boot to the on-board controller in Windows 7.

Question 4

The specifications say there are 7 USB ports, but, I can only count 6 from the pictures. Are there 7 ports and where are they?

Aside from the 6 external (2 in front and 4 in back), there is one inside on the board itself labeled "tape" which the documentation describes as for, " tape drive or RDX Removable Disk Cartridge drive."

Are there 2 NICs or just one? The specs say 1, but clearly the picture shows 2.

2, but if you plan to use RAID, the onboard controller never worked. Fortunately, MS Server 2012 and newer have excellent software RAID.

I run it as a Hyper-V Host with only a DC and a File server for VMs. It handles that ok.
