SO, What does the SIM card do for your phone?? ...I'm hoping to use my old Iphone 6 in WiFi mode only?

It's a SIM card that you would install into the phone if you wanted to sign up for the Net10 cell service. Net10 is a similar service like AT&T or Verizon. Not needed if you don't want the service.
