Do you have to buy a sim card separately for this? There was something in the sim card slot but it isnt reading a sim card and it seems like a piece of cardboard over a plastic thing?

The Virgin Mobile sim comes pre-installed. It sits in the gray plastic holder with the gold contacts visible and the cut-off corner matching the one on the holder. The holder only truly fits in the sim slot one way, but it goes in 95% of the way when upside down. The slot cover only fits when the sim holder is in all the way.

Can anyone verify if the phone will operate with no sim card installed? I understand I will not be able to make phone calls or access data outside of a WIFI signal. I know some phones do not like to operate with the sim installed. thank you.

It operates w/o a sim card until it's full. Which wont take long.

I know Virgin in the U.S. is Sprint. Is this phone unlocked? Does this have a SIM card/socket? Can I put my T-Mobile SIM into it and have it work?

I don't know about T-Mobile but I know for sure this is NOT an unlocked phone because Virgin Mobile can't be used on unlocked phones.

Does this come with a charger or anything else, or is it just the phone?
