can it be used in Australia ?

Even though the United States electrical standard for typical wiring and appliances is 120 volts AC 60 cycle and Australia is 230 Volt AC, this and essentially all external batteries tend to charge and discharge at 5 Volts DC. There are a few devices which charge from Mains or wall current. Obviously this would be an issue if the circuit did not auto-correct for the AC voltage. You are safe with this device since it operates on the standard 5 volt DC both input and output.
