Is this DVR compatible with HD-SDI cameras?

No it is not. This system is Composit only. SDI/HD-SDI is a compleatly different signal type. Also make sure what speed your HD-SDI cameras are, either 3G or 6G.

Is there any way to speed up the backup process to a USB flash drive? It takes as long to backup as the real time being backed up for the most part (a day of video on 4 cameras - 26GB lets say - takes at least a day to back up to a 32GB USB 2.0 drive). Thanks

If it takes lengthy of time to backup to your USB drive, you could try to download the backup footage to your computer by accessing the DVR over LAN. It is usually a lot faster this way.

Does this device support immediate playback of video recordings?
