Question 1

I know it says "RJ45" in the network specs, but it also says "Wireless Camera", and other cameras on their site specify 100Mbps for the wired connection etc.

Can someone confirm this supports wired ethernet, not just wireless?

I bought this camera about a month ago. Their product documentation is not good at all.

But here's what I learned-

Its required to use the hardwired ethernet port for the initial set up of the camera. Following that, you can use it wired or wireless.

I bought mine for monitoring a house we have for sale. The audio quality is even pretty good, so I can even listen in to what the realtor is telling people about the house as they walk it.

Bang for the buck, this is the best IP camera I have bought. It just takes some playing around to figure out how to use all of the settings.

Question 2

Could it be turned off/on by iphone, android smartphone, laptop? Could it be accessed to copy and delete files by wi-fi?

Jitu is right, you can not turn it off. You can turn on and off the recording mode, motion detection and email alert from the app.

Question 3

Are you able to remotely view the feed from a computer not on your network or is viewing only available via mobile device? I can't seem to locate anything about this. IF you can access remotely, is it via a secure connection with a username and password or how is the feed accessed?

I have a static IP and I am able to view an image from my home router using Firefox: http://admin:admin@yourexternalIP:yourport/tmpfs/snap.jpg Sometimes it wants you to type in the username password.

I have the router forward ports to the IP camera. I also have a internal webserver and have a HTML page with the same links to the camera. I have not found a way to stream video other than : rtsp://cameraIP/. It opens up a VLC application, not in the browser.

Besides buying the Camera and having 3 PC and Wifi at home and some extra wireless routers, what else do I need to start building my first IP Home Surveillance system?

More cameras.    One facing the way some would come to the door.  On for backyard.    One facing down driveway so people see it from street.    You want to scare them.

I am interested in this IP camera. I have AT&T U-verse internet service. Is there any special set up authorizations through their wireless router that will need to be approved by AT&T?

You will have to forward ports in your router probably. If you have full access to the router and the knowledge to do this, you shouldn't need At&t assistance.
