Is control interface open? Can I make my own app (website, script) to control it?

I'm afraid this question is above my pay scale. I'm not sure what all you'd want to do beyond what is in the app but I hope you finds your answer from someone that knows more about it.

How bright is this bulb?

It all depends on the color/warmth/cool settings you choose. On some of the warmer colors it's not very bright at 100%, maybe equal to a 40 watt bulb or lower depending on color. But on the cool or coolest colors at 100% it's equal to approximately between a 60 and 75 watt bulb.
