With its advanced processing and fabulous array of connections, the TX-NR809 is ready to lift the roof off. Eight HDMI inputs handle all your high-def content, from master-quality audio to upscaled 4K video. Home network capability lets you bring streaming internet radio and PC audio to your living room. And the drop-down front panel conceals a plethora of one-touch audio controls and A/V inputs.
Video—whether standard or high definition—gets the royal treatment from a high-quality HQV Vida processor and independent ISF calibration for each source. Advanced audio options include bi-amping, 7.2 multichannel pre-outs, and distributed multi-zone audio. As you’d expect from a receiver near the top of Onkyo’s mid-range line-up, construction is first-rate. A massive transformer, symmetrical L/R channels, separate power and pre-amp blocks, and a highly rigid chassis provide the bedrock for a superlative audio performance. HDMI Support for 3D Video and Audio Return ChannelThe HDMI implementation on the TX-NR809 receiver supports both 3D video and an Audio Return Channel, along with numerous high-resolution formats. 3D video brings exciting possibilities to home entertainment, with movie, game, and broadcast content on the increase and 3D-compatible TVs now on the market. Meanwhile, the Audio Return Channel allows audio content received directly by your HDTV’s tuner to be sent “upstream” via HDMI to your A/V receiver, without the need for a separate S/PDIF audio cable.
THX Select2 Plus CertifiedTHX Select2 Plus certification incorporates THX Loudness Plus, and is designed for AV receivers in rooms where the screen-to-seat viewing distance is approximately 10-12 feet, and the room size is approximately 2000 cubic feet. AV receivers that achieve THX Select2 Plus certification meet the world’s most demanding home theater standards for audio quality and performance, and promise to play at reference volume levels with minimal distortion.
