This is close to the product for which I have been searching but it is too long. For this item to really be useful it needs to be 2 or 3 inches long. At present such an item is unavailable anywhere. Is it?

Not that ive seen. you can take a wine cork and wrap the cord around it to the desired length. then use a twist tie or small zip te to secure it. thats what i did
