Does it have a free update to Windows 8.1? If not, what would an update cost?

Yes, the upgrade to 8.1 is free. However the 'normal' microsoft Windows update process does not do it. You click on the 'store' app button on the 8.0 main screen. You'll see a block to click on that says Free 8.1 upgrade. Click on it and about and hour later it's all done.

Is the processor an Intel 3200T or AMD 3200?

I have not prised the chip off the motherboard to investigate thoroughly, but the description of the product says it is an Intel i3 chip and Control Panel > System reports the processor to be Intel Core i3 3220 @ 3.3 GHz.

Yes, the unit  comes with descent set built in speakers that produce a quality sound but they are not very loud. Perfect for an office environment where volume usually is not needed. We like the unit very much and have purchased 19 of these over a 4 month period and are pleased with it overall. Hope this helps!

I believe it is a matte screen.  I bought this for somebody and installed it.  If glare is the worry I didn't see any.

Yes it does, not amazing quality, i think its like 480p. About your average front facing camera on a smart phone. It Pretty good for Skype, maybe not recording for a blog or YouTube vid. But good enough for your average user. It also has a mic too.

This model has a DVD multi burner- no bluRay. Also not touchscreen or wireless KB & mouse- you can get that in a different model for about 150 bucks more.

is this a new or refurbished computer?

The one I received was new and in a sealed box. I bought it for my sons' 40th birthday, and it works great. An excellent deal on an all in one, I think the best one out there in its' specification range. When I got it it had an instant savings, which made a real bargain (free shipping), but even at the current price it's a great deal. My Asus 1000HE netbook is the best computer I ever owned, and still runs on the original battery (it's almost 4 years old!), so I have faith in Asus products.
