Question 1

Does this unit come with a mouse and a keyboard? Can memory be added to this all-in-one computer and and generically speaking most all-in-one computers?

Accepted Answer

Yes to both questions. There's only one Memory Bank though, so don't plan on buying a 2GB module to upgrade to 4GB. :)

Question 2

is memory upgradeable? 2gb is pretty skimpy nowadays

Accepted Answer

It will take up to 8GB but only has one memory slot. So you cannot Add Ram to what it already has. You have to purchase a new stick. Also FYI....It takes Laptop Memory, not desktop memory.

Purchased it for my in-laws to do some light surfing and email.

Question 3

will this play battlefeild 4?

Accepted Answer

No, this has a basic video chipset in it for use with web browsing, Adobe Flash animations, writing letters/school reports, etc. This is not a gaming machine nor can it be modified to be such. For that, one must have a regular desktop (aka tower) machine so that an appropriate video card can be installed.

Additionally, Battlefield 4 has a minimum processor requirement of a Core 2 Duo operating at 2.4GHz. This is a Pentium-class processor, which is a lower-grade processor than a Core 2 Duo. Once again, the best advice is to get a traditional desktop machine.

I hope this helps.

Question 4

Is this a complete system or just a monitor?

Accepted Answer

This is a complete system. You will love the space it saves on the desk. Tower is built into the screen, so compact. You can't even tell this. Has a nice look.

Question 5

I'm worried about it being Windows 7 Pro. It seems to be stripped down from regular Windows 7. Can you game on this machine?

Accepted Answer

Gaming might me somewhat limited.

Sure it will play lower end games but not anything like WOW.

There is no option for a graphics card but memory can be upgraded to 8GB (you will need 1 8GB SODIMM as the motherboard only has one slot).

Also, Windows 7 Pro has the ability to join a domain (server) making it a great choice for a business machine.

Lenovo has much better choices for gaming in the desktops they offer. I would look for an i5 2.5 or higher CPU with a PCIe graphics card slot.

Question 6

It can be set-up to print wirelessly, right?

Accepted Answer

It has wifi capability...I have mine set-up without a corded ethernet connection. As far as wifi print...that all depends on your printer. As long as it has an IP address and/or can receive wifi print request then their should not be an issue.

Hope this helps...

Question 7

does this have a disk drive so i can watch dvd's/burn dvds?

Accepted Answer

You can watch but I do not think that you can burn

Question 8

does it have an ethernet and is it wireless? If so, sold!!!

Accepted Answer

Yes the Lenovo ThinkCenter Edge Pentium has both a wireless and wired LAN communications.

Question 9

how many usb ports are there?

Accepted Answer

There are a total of six USB 2.0 ports: two on the left side and four on the back. Of course, just like any other computer, you may attach a USB hub to any (or all) of the ports to give yourself more ports as required.

Question 10

I would like to purchase this unit with more memory, can I purchase it with upgraded memory or add it separately after market?

Accepted Answer

I upgraded the RAM myself. It was easy. Just make sure you use DDR3 SODIMM. I used: Kingston Value RAM 4GB 1600MHz PC3-12800 DDR3 Non-ECC CL11 SODIMM SR x8 Notebook Memory. Works like a charm. You might consider 8 GB, but 4 gb is a big upgrade.
