Will the onboard Intel 4500 Graphics support wide screen monitors?
Specifically in 1440 x 900 Resolution?

It should handle that resolution just fine. I have not tried it but the onboard Intel 4500 is in a lot of devices with 1080 screens, so it should handle it no problem.
Unless you are trying to do 3D gaming then you might have issues.

This has DP "Display port" and DP is a high end connection, You can order a DP to HDMI adapter if you wish and connect it to any 1080p TV.

Question 2

I have an old 56K modem I want to install.  Is that possible with this machine?

I don't know. But probably not easily. 'old 56k modems' came in a variety of sizes and connections. If it is a USB modem,  then it should work without problems (assuming a driver for Windows 7 is built-in or available). Other external modems probably need a serial port, and this does not have one. And the internal PCI slot requires low profile cards - and most modems had full height brackets. They MIGHT fit if you were able to remove the bracket - but they would not be very safe - especially when connecting/disconnecting phone cords....

Mine came with a DVD player, 8 USB 2.0 ports (6 back, 2 front) a Display Port and VGA video port (driven by Intel integrated 4500 video) and there is one internal PCI slot - but it is low profile only. Mine was the Ultra Small Form Factor. And the power supply is an external brick.

Description says 32-Bit but Specifications says 64 Bit.. which one is it?

The installed operating system (OS) is Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit, but the CPU, etc. are capable of running a 64 bit OS. Unfortunately, as I understand things, you can only upgrade this 32 bit OS to 64 bit software by doing a full install of Windows 7 Home Premium or higher OS. I selected Windows 7 Professional so I could run some older XP software. 
I've had this Lenovo unit for a couple of weeks now and I'm really happy with how fast and quiet it is. I think it's "honey for the money" !

does this come with an actual win7 product key?  iow, can you reinstall
WIN7  and activate it?

Yes, these come with a Win 7 Home Premium COA sticker on the side, and also the old Vista COA was left on the case, but is crossed out and says "do not use." You will need installation media to reinstall Win7, but the license is indeed included.

I ordered 10 of these, and all of them passed diagnostics and function 100%, minus one with a bad optical (DVD-ROM) drive. They are extremely clean inside and out (only extremely light scratches on the case exterior on a couple of them), all motherboards and RAM passed the stress test, and all hard drives passed  testing (they are a mixed lot of WD and Seagate 160GB models, although one of mine happened to include a WD 250GB instead!). Considering the price paid and the cost of a single replacement DVD drive, I'm exceptionally happy with the purchase. 5 stars to the refurb technicians who worked on these units.
