the refresh rate is 120.  I think you have to buy the 3d to get the 240 refresh rate.

What video format can the USB ports read, such as "Video TS" files?

avi.  On a good day.  If you're lucky.  It has a built-in media browser that reads media from the USB, or from a UPnP server, but it will just eat up time that could be better spent cleaning the bathroom.  They should be ashamed for releasing such an unusable gesture of an app.  I patiently tested it with various USB media, and with 4 different UPnP servers (via the network).  It will display most titles, but will hardly play any.  Even if it's an avi, which is supposed to be compatible, it might take forever to load, and then stop when it gets unhappy.  Oh, and there's no rewind.  Yeah. If you try to, it will quit the movie and you have to start it and fast-forward (very slowly) to the point you stopped.  To happily view external media I recommend doing all of the processing on something else and feeding it via HDMI.  That could be a server, Chromecast, Roku, or in my case, my laptop or Android tablet.  Other than this,  it's a really nice TV!
