Westinghouse Silver/Black 37" 8ms 1080p HD-Ready LCD TV Model LVM-37W3

Pros: All I can say is wow, and yes, the brightness is insane, it lights up my bedroom... but is actually the back light setting, I set it to 80% and is just perfect now. I mainly got a 1080P since I want to hook up a pc to in the near future. for the testing purposes I hooked up my pc, and WOW... the sharpness at 1920x1080 was insane.

Cons: Non so far, well except that I wish it had more compite inputs... but I guess I just need to move away from the old stuff... Im planning on using HDMI with DirecTV HD DVR, I have a HDMI -> DVI for the LG Upconvert DVDR (awesome quality) and I'll use the secondary DVI for the PC... so I will be ok for inputs.

Overall Review: I also tried the PC resolution at 1280x768 and it looks great too, so if that is your MAIN purpose for a 1080p monitor, you dont truly need it. specially if you will sit away from the screen, at 10 - 12 you can read it fine, if not, just increase the font size. I wish I had the desk space to use it as PC monitor :) it sure beats the heck out of the 24" & 30" Dells for less than the 30" price tag.

Pros: Super 1080p, good response time and great wide viewing angle Doubles as TV and computer monitor ... good size! 1:1 Pixel Mapping HDMI with HDCP connection 2 DVI with HDCP Colorstream, PIP, SVIDEO, etc. Received with no dead pixels Barely any backlight leakage

Cons: Non-Native resolutions and less than 720p looks blocky...use with high definition upconversion or high quality source only Noticeable ghosting in some games and fast moving video and page tearing/blurriness when moving windows around... Contrast ratio could be improved Colors not as rich or vibrant as CRT or Plasma but still decent for 16.7 mil.

Overall Review: Don't forget to purchase a DVI cable if you're using this as a monitor because it doesn't come with one since it is being sold as a "TV" despite the lack of a tuner which makes it a Monitor really but no big deal. Buy a cheap cable here at NewEgg.

Pros: Beautiful display for the cash. Really shines as a PC gaming monitor if you can run 1920x1080 with 4x AA. Tons of inputs! DVI1 - PC DVI2 - Cable Box HDMI - PS3 Component1 - Xbox/PS2 Component2 - Nintendo Wii VGA - Xbox360 1080p gaming at it's finest.

Cons: HDMI handshaking issue with the PS3. Sony is working on a fix.

Pros: Beautiful picture, silent, no ghosting, blacks are lacking a bit but don't expect strong black levels for such a low price anyways.

Cons: PS3 issues as stated by others. Mine arrived defective, sent it to Westinghouse's repair center, they told me they couldn't fix it but would send me a replacement 'by Friday'. In the end it took them 10 weeks to finally send a replacement and many false hopes during that time. Any manufacturer would be ashamed of such a long wait time, no repair was involved, just an even exchange...

Overall Review: Next time, I will get a LCD from a reputable manufacturer, I do not want to ever have to deal with Westinghouse again.

Pros: Lots of inputs that all except 1080p. Doubles as an incredible PC monitor at 1920x1080! Good response time, there isn't any ghosting when the monitor is being fed a progressive signal. Great value for the price, since it is thousands cheaper than similar sized high end 1080p LCD displays.

Cons: Only one HDMI input. Slight ghosting when the display is being sent an interlaced signal. This is because the display must deinterlace the signal since flat panels can only produce progressive images.

Overall Review: Overall, I am really happy with my purchase. The ghosting I mentioned is only a problem when watching digital cable. The issue is barely noticeable; however, I am pretty obsessed with HDTV's so I tend to pick up every little imperfection. Currently, none of the networks broadcast 1080p, hopefully this will change sometime soon as this would reduce ghosting on flat panel displays. I would recommend this display to anyone looking for a mid sized budget flat panel.

Pros: It renders a clean 1920x1024 image. Works well for gaming, dvds, and over-air digital broadcasts. The buttons being on the side help make it more kid proof. I love the dual DVI and the RGB input for computers. The viewing angle is great, and the brightness is okay. Love the auto-off when no signal is detected, and auto-source select when you power it on. I haven't had any remote control issues with the factory remote, and have even used the factory remote to teach my learning universal remote with no issues. However, small text and other details from all inputs including the computer show up crystal clear. This isn't a show-piece, but you're not going to find anything better unless you double the cost, so value for the dollar is phenomenal. So, while the performance is only average, the price makes me upgrade my rating to 4-stars

Cons: No zoom function. So, if you're watching a widescreen DVD, you will see a black border all the way around it. It will allow you to stretch the image to the sides, which creates a distorted image and leaves the black edges on top and bottom. However, the screen is large enough, and the black stays black enough, that you quickly forget about the black border all the way around. Bright colors get over saturated and washed out easily and dull colors render as dull. I toned down the brightness/contrast/saturation so that CSI looked natural and vibrant, but when the evening news came on, the anchors were a little gray. Factory settings turned out to be a happy medium. No ghosting, but in action scenes, you can see it pixelate sorta like a compressed movie file on your computer will do. Low-res DVDs (such as the seasons of Friends) don't look that great.

Overall Review: There are some trade offs. The sheer number of pixels make it out-perform all lower resolution displays, but a close comparison with other 1080p displays costing twice as much, will show this one is weak in a few areas. My computer gaming friends still drool over it though. Keep in mind that it's HD, so bad video looks worse, and good video looks better.

Pros: 1920x1080 with bfg 8800 GTS looks amazing on this monitor. Xbox 360 looks amazing.

Cons: It doesn't fornicate with me

Overall Review: I sit around 3-4 ft away and it's great. Just turn the brightness down a little

Pros: I purchased this display for use as a computer display and for viewing video from DVD/VHS and through a PC HDTV tuner card. It has worked better than I had expected or hoped. - PC display through DVI-D is pixel locked with no overscan at 1920x1080 non-interlaced 60hz. - No detectable (to me) motion blur. - Display supports common PC resolutions including 1280x1024, allowing compatibility with finicky games. - Backlight is very bright. I leave it set to the minimum level even during the day with blinds open. - PIP works with all inputs and resolutions. - Composite video (VHS) display quality is as good as any display I have experience with.

Cons: I can't seem to get the display to remember display timings (screen position, pixel lock) for the VGA inputs. The timings can be configured, but reset to default after the source mode changes or is power cycled. This could be a problem for someone trying to use this as a display for a PC without DVI-D outputs.

Overall Review: The 60DPI pixel size of the display make it unsuitable for use at desktop viewing distances. I think most people would need a 3+ ft viewing distance for working with computer text.
