Yes, we recently purchased this TV and it has HDMI, Composite and VGA inputs so you can connect a DVD or Blue Ray player or both, providing your players has similar outputs.

i noticed in a picture there is a usb port, what does it do? will it provide power to something else like chromecast so that an additional power adapter wont be necessary?

I'm using my tv for the same purpose you seem to be thinking of.  When I plug my Chromecast into the USB port it does not have power,  therefore I'm still using a power adapter.

This is a great little TV so far,  great picture,  sound is ok,  works great for what I need it for.
