Yes, remote included. This is 2nd refurbished bought from Newegg.  Came like new. Will use this 19" for security monitor mostly. OCT 2013 bought a 42" Hisense -reburbised-only disappointment is a LCD not LED, but use mostly as PC monitor which is fine. I bought with rebates on these 2 TVs. I trust factory refurbished than a 3rd party.

Are there connections for a VCR Player?

Yes, there is one set of rca jacks (red, yellow, white cords) in the back as well as hdmi hook ups for newer Media players. It's a great little tv

Does this come with built-in speakers? I'd like to use it as an inexpensive computer monitor.

Yes it does have built in speakers but they are really cheap and sound muffled. Some adjustments to audio can be made through the menu settings, but they will still sound cheap! There is however, a headphone output jack that you can plug in external speakers to it and improve the sound quality some.

Can this tv be mounted to the wall?

Yes, as with most LED/LCD monitors this HDTV has 4 screw mounting holes on the back. I would guess they are a standard size for use on any (optional bracket) universal mounting bracket.

So this product is listed as being both 720p and 1080p - which is it? I'm assuming 720, but curious if anyone knows for sure.

Resolution refers to the number of pixels in an image. Resolution is sometimes identified by the width and height of the image as well as the total number of pixels in the image. For example, an image that is 2048 pixels wide and 1536 pixels high (2048X1536) contains (multiply) 3,145,728 pixels (or 3.1 Megapixels).  You could call it a 2048X1536 or a 3.1 Megapixel image.  As the megapixels in the pickup device in your camera increase so does the possible maximum size image you can produce.  This means that a 5 megapixel camera is capable of capturing a larger image than a 3 megapixel camera.
How does image resolution play out on my computer monitor?

The computer screen you are looking at right now is set at a particular resolution as well.  The larger the screen, the larger you likely have your screen resolution set.  If you have a 17" monitor, likely you have it set at 800X600 pixels.  If you have a 19" screen it is likely set at 1024X768.  You can change the settings but these are optimum for those screen sizes.

All TV & monitors are RGB it is the way color is created with light. CMYK is a print color combination, when color is created by ink.

I bought this for my mom's kitchen awhile back and set it up for her.  As I recall, yes is does and btw she loves it.
