I believe this is a SATA drive.

However -- this system is really really bad. I highly advise you keep looking. Here's why.

- The BIOS/Firmware is outdated. You will need to re-flash it before you will have any hope of fixing the bigger issue, which is:

- The Intel drivers log data to the registry, and over time this builds up and results in unusable boot times. Google "slow boot Optiplex 755".

This is one of two computers I've had in my life time that I've discarded because they were hopeless time sucks. I work in IT/Technology full time, and am very familiar with debugging. After spending a couple of hundred dollars on this system, I squandered at least a thousand dollars of my time before I cut my losses and gave up.

I may try Linux on this box at some point, but it WILL NOT run the OEM Windows that comes with it in a reasonable way. Again, I highly recommend you do the google search I mentioned above before you decide to buy this.

Is this a SATA drive, and are there more SATA ports available?

Yes, it uses SATA and has at least one spare SATA port for additional drives. I don't remember how many more as this was a gift for my aunt, but I would imagine it has a total of at least 4-6 which is standard. It is using one for the CD/DVD, and one for the HDD. You will need to supply your own SATA cable for any additional drives.

It has 2 standard PCI slots, 1 PCI-E and a slot for a video card.

Can I connect two monitors to this unit?

No, there is only one VGA input with no other video input connections.  There is one available PCI slot.  Also, there are no PS/2 inputs so key board and mouse must be USB or wireless.  There are 8 USB slots (6 in back and 2 in front)

What connections are there for a second hard-drive?

Generally Dell computers are available in 3 sizes: mini-tower, small form factor, and ultra small form factor.   The small form factors can sit on the desk horizontally or vertically.  I've purchased many refurb 755's for a non-profit.  The  mini tower (the one pictured) has a slot for a second hard drive and the power plug for it.  There are two additional data ports on the system board.  You have to supply the data cable and possibly the blue plastic hard drive caddy.  Neither the small form factor or ultra small form factor support a second hard drive
