how does it do on round cables?

The only thing I've noticed with round cables is that you have to be careful in stripping the outer insulation: if you cut too deeply, you can cut into the insulation on the individual wires inside. But that's going to be the case for any stripping/crimping tool.

(What I do is just barely score the outside insulation with the stripping blade, then pull off the scored section of the insulation by hand. Then I untwist the pairs just enough to line them up with the RJ-45 plug and insert them. Sometimes I have to pull the pairs in unison out from the shielding a little more, because ALL of the wires have to be deep enough into the plug that the teeth bite through them when you crimp.)
