Would I need to consider additional cooling options for this SSD?

Definitely, and not just for the T705, but for any PCIe 5.0 M.2 SSD. Their design structures run hot and require external heatsinks for cooling. A heatsink can be either provided by your motherboard, or by a 3rd party vendor - just ensure it will accommodate physical constraints of your motherboard and neighboring components if obtained from a 3rd party vendor.  Failure to use a heatsink will more than likely cause thermally induced fatal component failure.

Does this SSD tend to run hot?

I would not run any PCIe 5.0 M.2 SSD without a heatsink as all 5th Generation M.2 SSDs run hot, no matter what brand they are. The T705 is not equipped with a heatsink, so your motherboard or a 3rd party vendor will need to provide one for it. My ASUS ROG Maximus Z890 Hero I purchased from Newegg has 6 M.2 slots. M.2_2 through M.2_6 are protected by a mutually shared heatsink. M.2_1 (typically reserved for your operating system, or "OS") is protected exclusively by its own massive heatsink. CrystalDiskInfo reports the T705 holding my Win11 OS is running at 51°C (system is currently running a backup image of the T705 to an external USB HDD), a Gen4 M.2 SSD holding my system files is running at 48°C, and a Gen3 M.2 SSD holding a copy of Ubuntu is running at 55°C. So, a heatsink is an absolute must when running the T705. Failure to use one will more than likely cause thermally induced fatal component failure within mere minutes.

Is the Crucial T705 2TB PCIe Gen5 NVMe M.2 SSD - Up to 14,500 MB/s  compatable with amd ryzen 9 9900x3d cup?

I don't see why not, Daniel. Just make sure you have a PCIe Gen 5 M.2 motherboard to support it.
