Can you use this gender changer to put two male cables together?

Yes, That's what I used it for. I have a dual monitor setup and the cable that came with the monitor wasn't long enough so i used this adapter and another cable i already had. works great no problems with it in almost a year of use.

I have an old zt 930 computer. It has two HD15 ports on the back (next to each other). One is a male and one is a female. Are they both video ports? Can I use your gender changer to use the two ports to control two different monitors simultaneously?

I bet if you look closely at those ports you'll find 1 has 3 rows of pins for a total of 15 (VGA or DB15), and the other only has 2 rows of pins and a total of 9 (serial, RS232 or DB9). 1 is for video, the other is for things like connecting to external modems or to program network switches. Search for : StarTech GC9SF If it looks like this will plug in, then it is not for video.
