Can this tester connect to a bare wire or does it require a connector on the end of the wire?

It requires a connector on the end of the wire. Having said that, if that falls into your needs, this is an excellent tester. Very easy to use, the display couldn't be simpler. I used it all over my house. My wiring is rock solid now.

This tester works with Cat5/Cat6 network cables, phone cables, and coaxial cable assemblies.

Is there any storage facility included with this tester?

Yes, the tester includes a vinyl storage pouch.

How many connector ports does this tester have?

The tester has 5 connector ports.

How does this device help in identifying cable issues?

The device identifies mis-wires, short circuits, and open circuits in cables.
