how does this ts25 dmc-ts25k camera differ from the ts25?

The camera your asking about has three different versions. Im not sure which one you're inquiring about. Go to Newegg and type in ts25. You can then compare the three versions.

what size and type of sdhc card to buy?

I bought an 8GB Toshiba Secure Digital High-Cap Card. Really, unless you never take pics off your card to transfer them to a external hard drive, 8GB should be plenty storage for pics and videos if not, go 16+
