Thanks for providing the full Lenovo model # with your query. I checked the specs on another site and this model has 2 memory slots. Most likely, your Lenovo only has 1 slot occupied and the other slot is just begging for more memory especially on an AMD A6 chip. I'd suggest that you do a "look see" before you buy anything and unscrew the back cover and see if there is indeed 1 vacant slot. PLEASE MAKE SURE TO FULLY SHUT DOWN THE PC, REMOVE THE AC POWER PLUG & REMOVE THE BATTERY BEFORE TAKING OFF THE BACK COVER.

While you have the pc open, carefully read the label on the memory piece that is there. While it's nice to get two matching pieces to assure better compatability, all that's really necessary is that the old and new piece be the same speed in this case DDR3 1600.

For the record, I did exactly what I described above on 2 Lenovo PCs that I gave as gifts. They were also A6 chips but they weren't the Think Pad edge model.
