Question 1

If I have 1 3.5" HD will a > 300mm GPU still fit?

Accepted Answer

Yes, no problem. I have a 300mm GPU (ASUS Strix GTX 1070) install with a front mount radiator (push/pull) and 3.5 hdd installed. Without a front mount radiator you can put two 3.5 Hard drives under the basement lower shroud. If you do use a front radiator like me, then one 3.5 hard drive can be mounted under the shroud but that require ordering the required bracket (search newegg for PH-HDDKT_01 to find the bracket)

Question 2

Is it possible to fit 3x 140mm fans in the front? Or at the very least 2x 140 and 1x 120? Trying to figure out a positive airflow situation... (Yes I read the specs, but they are not always true to what can really be done..)

I can say 2 140 should work.  I am using an optical drive, so I couldn’t say 3 will work, but based on the ventilation in front I’d lean towards no.  I have 2 120’s in front intake, 2 120’s up top & 1 120 in back that exhaust and I haven’t gotten above 40C with my Ryzen 5 1600.  Stock cooler.

Question 3

Is it just mine or this case doesn't have front dust filter?

It should have a front dust filter, but it isn't immediately obvious because it is inside the front panel that can be removed. Also important to note is that removing this panel while your computer is on is apparently a bad idea because mine just reset when I checked for the filter. Hope this helps!

Question 4

Is this case any louder/quieter than other cases?  The case options seem perfect for my needs but I saw where someone noted it wasn't particularly quiet.

I have 7 Corsair HD 120 RGB fans in mine. Personally, i could care less about the sound fans make. I would say with all my fans i have some fan noise. The case sits right on top of my desk beside me and it don't bother me a bit. When you use fans you are gonna have noise, there's just no stopping it. I'm sure less fans would make it quieter, but I like having all the RGB effect in it. Plus, you cant ever have too many fans for cooling. The 3 in front blow IN, 4 on top/back blow OUT. Plus I have a large CPU heatsink/fan.  As for the case itself, I love this thing. Best case I've ever owned to be honest. The RGB fans look awesome in it. Glass side window is sweet too!

Will a Asus Maximus VIII Extreme mobo fit in this case?

Yes, The Asus Maximus VIII Extreme motherboard is Extended ATX form factor.

This case supports Extended ATX motherboards. Just make sure you check the clearance, even if it supports the E-ATX form factor some motherboards may still be too large since this is mid size tower.

Question 6

Does the tempered glass model have a 5-1/4" bay?

Accepted Answer

Yes. However, DON'T mount an optical drive with screws on the "hidden" side of the drive cage. Only insert screws on the exposed side of the cage. Using any screws on the hidden side will deface the inside surface of the case beside the drive by scraping the paint off when one tries to re-insert the drive. Unfortunately I did this to my case. There is no warning about this in the manual.

Does this case include the PWM fan controller? It is listed as an "optional upgrade" on the Phanteks website.

The case I got did not come with one. I think they mean an optional upgrade you have to buy separately.

is the tempered glass clear or is it smoked/tinted?

The tempered glass is NOT smoked. There is a black band that goes around the outer edge of all 4 sides. Looks awesome!

Can this case be reversed to where you install the motherboard and everything the opposite direction like some cases have?

No. Unless you want to take the whole case apart and start cutting metal, this is not a standard option.

As James F. explained, there are two bays hidden in the back inside the lower compartment. Two plastic HDD trays are included for this location. You can add a number of additional ones in the front but you need to buy optional "hanging" trays sold by Phanteks. There is room for one optical drive in the upper front of the case (a plastic cover pops out to access the drive). There is one SSD tray included also.
This is a very nice case given the price point. There is a lot of room for an air cooler. Quality wise, the steel could be thicker, but again, it's a good value and surprisingly good quality for that price point.
I really love the Glass panel and I highly recommend this case if you want a good build that won't break the bank.
Also, the three included fans are really quiet, which is a plus.
Overall I'm very happy with this case. It looks like a much more expensive case than it really is.
