This will allow me to to control the speed of my fans via the motherboard, yes? They won't all be stuck at max speed at all times? I know it can't do individual control.

Yes, this is used to take 1 PWM (4-pin) output from the mobo, and control up to 6 DC (3-pin) fans to run at the same speeds.  As long as your mobo can control the CPU fan with PWM control, and the curve can be programmed, all 6 fans will ramp up and down per your fan curve.  Just make sure you have 1 fan plugged into the FAN1 (white) output, that is the only output that is monitored for speed, so the speed of that fan is what you will see in your MOBO fan monitor screen.

Can each fan connected to this HUB be controlled separately? For example, could I add three fans to a group that spin all the time and then add another two fans to a different group that will only run under a certain circumstance?

No, it doesn't have the ability to individually control each fan or sets of fans, you need a fan controller or if your not doing anything crazy then use your motherboard

Will I need any sort of adapter in order to plug this in an power up? i.e; sata to molex converter.

It has a SATA power connector, so it depends on what power connections you have available. If all you have are Miles connectors, then, yes, a molex-to-sata connector will be required.

Can this made non-PWM fans function as PWM?

As long as you plug it into a pwm output on your motherboard, any fans connected to it will function at whatever rpm you specify. I had 5 fans connected to it while it was plugged into the CPU header on my motherboard and speedfan worked perfectly.

Will this hub control any rgb on the fans as well as the fan speed when plugged into mobo?

How many amps can this controller handle? I'm trying to run Scythe Ultra Kaze fans (.6 A each) and I'm having issues. I tried running 10 fans on the hub and it just wouldn't start. I switched to 5 fans and it worked for about 20 minutes and now will only run them at 100 percent.

How is this a PWM hub when the fan connections show only 3 pins instead of 4?

It takes a pwm signal and turns it into an rpm signal so you can fan control rpm fans off of your CPU header.
