Does this phone use a Nano or Micro SIM? The specs at Newegg say 'nano' but GSMArena specs say 'micro'.

The ZTE Axon uses a nano SIM.  My previous phone had a micro SIM, and it wouldn't fit the Axon.

Does this phone have a removable battery?

The battery is non-removable, however with the ample amount of the storage the battery already holds you'll easily have enough to power through the whole day on heavy use. If you still find yourself running to the wall outlet for a charger this phone comes with Qcalcomm Quick Charge, which will literally charger your phone from 0% to 100% in one hour and 40 minutes. If your're on the go even 20-30 minutes will give you an excellent charge.

does the axon come with a sim card that i can use with straight talk, or will i have to get a sim card from straight talk when i get it activated?

No you would have to reach out to Straight Talk and get the SIM card from them. Just an FYI...I love this phone. A lot of phone for the price. Great camera and super fast and a very well built phone that looks great and doesn't look cheap....Hope this helps as well.

Sorry for the late response. This is from my reading. So, please take it with a pinch of salt.
This will work on AT&T and T-Mobile as they use GSM network which is available around the world. It does not work for CDMI network.

Considering the specs on sites like GSM arena says the phone has 4GB of memory, is your 2GB memory listing an error?

I believe you are confusing the Axon 7 with the Axon A1. do a search for Axon 7 it has the 4gb ram with 64gb memory and is expandable up to 128gb should run about $400.00

Will a zte axon pro case work with this phone the zte axon A1?

Yes.  The Axon and Axon Pro have the same external dimensions.  Screen protectors are also interchangeable.  Only difference between the two is internal hardware.

No expansion.  32 GB fixed.  Using about 7 GB for System so far. Considering cloud availability, 32 seems like more than enough for apps and local needs

works with tracfone network?

I personally use Tracfone and yes, this phone (which is unlocked) does work on their networks and does work for their Bring Your Own Smartphone promotion. Since I was an existing Tracfone customer when I bought this phone, all I had to do was purchase the "Bring Your Own Smartphone SIM kit" for around a dollar or two at any major retail store that has a phone/electronics section. Following the directions, I activated the SIM and transferred my minutes. There was some time delay but it took less than an hour for the system to fully confirm the transfer.

I believe if you're already using a Tracfone smartphone with a Nano SIM card, you could simply switch that into this phone and be good to go, but then your phone information on your Tracfone account may be erroneous. Better to follow through and update all necessary info. Regardless, the important bit is that you wouldn't need to purchase a new Tracfone smartphone Nano SIM in this case.

I would say yes, it does get very hot if you are doing something intensive (playing online games, in my case). Being out in the sunlight also increases this heat significantly -- more than it reasonably should, I feel. But, having said that, I can count on one hand the number of times my phone has shut off from overheating. In other words, it can get rather hot but it rarely results in problems.

Interestingly, I would argue that the flip cover accessory makes the heat worse because it insulates the back of the phone instead of allowing the heat to dissipate off -- good for your hand, maybe not so much for the phone. Regardless, it hasn't been remotely enough of a problem for me to take the protective cover off.
