Pioneer BDR-XS06 External Slim Blu-Ray 6X USB 3.0 Writer Drive

BDR-XS06

A perfect blend of versatility, technology and aesthetics, the Pioneer BDR-XS06 USB 3.0 BD/DVD/CD burner is the next generation Blu-ray disc burner for Blu-ray enthusiasts and professionals.

The sleek, slim, USB-powered driver has a smooth slot-loading mechanism which pulls the disc directly in rather than first placing the disc onto a loading tray. The BDR-XS06 allows users to watch Blu-ray Disc titles and author high-definition Blu-ray Disc content [1], as well as the ability to burn valuable personal files to CD/ DVD/Blu-ray Disc with the included Corel Toast Lite software. Move to the future of optical storage with massive BDXL at up to 128GB, and burn amounts of data in no time, thanks to its fast writing speed of 6x.

The BDR-XS06 boasts unique features for enhanced performance, such as PowerRead, Auto Quiet mode, and PureRead2+. PowerRead can provide smoother movie playback when a disc has fingerprints or minor surface scratches. Auto Quiet mode intelligently adjusts the disc rotation speed to reduce noise, and PureRead2+ automatically adjusts the drive parameters to minimize sound glitches during music playback. Plus, Auto Quiet mode and PureRead can be configured as well as enabled and disabled with the Pioneer BDR-XS06 Drive Utility. The utility is available for download here.

general information

High Storage Capacity

The BDR-XS06 can read BD-ROM discs, read/write to single, dual, triple, and quad layer BD-R discs, and is backwards compatible to read and write to DVD and CD formats. Up to 156% more data storage capacity than a 50GB Dual Layer Blu-ray Disc. Moreover, it supports the BDXL format that offers 128GB quad layer and 100GB triple layer Blu-ray media.

general information

Faster Burning

A faster burning solution, the BDR-XS06 delivers 6x [2] writing on BD-R single-layer and dual-layer disc, and 4x writing on BD-R triple-layer and quad layer discs.

general information

Smooth Movie Playback

Scratches, fingerprints and other abnormalities on the surface of a disc can sometimes cause Blu-ray and DVD movie playback to stop. When a PowerRead enabled drive is not able to read through obstructed areas of a disc, it will attempt to quickly move forward to the next available data point, resulting in smoother Blu-ray and DVD movie playback [3].

general information

A Smarter Drive

Pioneer drives with Auto Quiet mode, monitor how they are being used and will adjust their speed automatically – high speed for data transfer, and low speed for music or movie playback.

general information

PureRead 2+ - for a Better Music Experience

Scratches and fingerprints on your CDs can cause them to skip. A drive normally makes a calculated guess at the unreadable data and attempts to correct this to match the original music. However this is not 100% accurate. PureRead, when enabled, makes the drive reread the obscured data to extract the original music as accurately as possible [4].

general information

An Eco-friendly Drive

The BDR-XS06 reduces power consumption on external USB drives which allows for eco-friendly USB bus-powered drives. The smaller packaging also saves resources and fuel for transportation.

general information

Portable and Stylish

The BDR-XS06 measures only 5.3" (W) X 0.7" (H) X 5.3" (D) and weighs a mere 9.9 ounces, giving it the ultimate portability. Its silver finish gives it a professional look and feel, and perfectly complements the style of your computers.
