This is a "Blu-Ray" disk. It holds 25GB of data. So, if you're asking can you store data, i.e. files, video, audio (mp3, FLAC etc) Yes you can.  If you want to create a Blu-Ray movie, you will need software to convert it. I store a lot of my MP4 VIDEO files on BLU-RAY, which are accessible from my sony blu-ray player hooked to my TV. Also, you only get about 21.5GB of actual disk space to use. Hope that answers your question.
