Is this an internal drive?  The dimensions listed are humongus  I 'm not familiar with an atx case that odd ball!

This is an internal drive. and ATX case is usually a large desktop case
I have built about 30 systems until now.. I am 73 yrs old.. So been doing this a long time  I know optical drives are kind of phasing out. but  I love them 
Plextor has been around for ages and makes , in my opinion, the best optical ( dvd -Cd) drives  of any company out there.
