The Plugable USB3-SATA-UASP1 USB 3.0 to SATA Lay-Flat Hard Drive Dock gives you a fast and easy way to turn a bare/internal 2.5"/3.5" SATA I/II/III drive into a UASP-ready USB 3.0 external hard drive. It has all the elements you'd expect:
The Plugable USB3-SATA-UASP1 is a unique single bay hard drive docking solution, which supports all 2.5" and 3.5" SATA I/II/III hard drives, solid state drives, and hybrid drives - up to any capacity (8TB+). It's flashed with the latest firmware to support GPT (GUID Partition Table) format for larger than 3TB drives.
The docking station delivers optimal performance with a USB 3.0 connection. The SuperSpeed USB 3.0 port delivers blazing-fast data transfer rates of up to 5Gbps/640MBps* - up to 10 times as fast as USB 2.0, letting you transfer a large amount of data in seconds. It's also fully backwards compatible with USB 2.0 and 1.1 at their native speeds.
*Real world transfer rate performance over USB 3.0 will vary by computer host controller and disk drive specifications. The latest USB 3.0 XHCI host controller drivers are highly recommended for the best performance and stability.
With support for UASP (USB Attached SCSI Protocol), the docking station's USB 3.0 port performs faster than conventional USB 3.0 when paired with a UASP-enabled host controller.
*UASP functionality requires UASP capable host controller and operating system.
The open horizontal docking bay was designed for easy dock/undock of bare/internal SATA disk drives. Easily slide bare SATA drives into the docking station bay with no wires to connect.
The docking station supports plug and-plug features for easy installation. It requires no driver installation, as it uses the standard USB mass storage class driver support already provided in Windows XP and later, Mac, and Linux. It also supports hot-swappable function, making it easy to swap your drive.
Built-in dual-color LED indicator reports drive activity (blue for power, and red for drive activity), eliminating guesswork.
The docking station features a power button to power off drive when it's not in use. Drive sleeps automatically on OS power events or 10 minutes of idle.
